The Campbell House, located in the heart of Moore County, North Carolina, is a historic property with deep roots in the local community.
I recall parking at the Campbell House for my first organized bike ride, the Tour De Moore, about 15 years ago. Then I was focused on the event but made a mental note of how majestic the property was.
During a recent short trip through Southern Pines, I found myself back at the Campbell House. A brief rainstorm drenched the property, which I knew would enhance the scene. With camera in hand, I approached Campbell House walking around looking for different perspectives and wondering about the stories etched into its very being.
As I framed different images, a sense of reverence washed over me. This was not merely a structure of bricks and mortar, but a portal to another time.
With each click of the shutter, my excitement grew. The rain had formed puddles that provided a unique sense of depth and interest to each image. Each day can bring different perspectives to the same scene, which challenges us as artists. I thoroughly enjoyed my reconnection with the Campbell House and was pleased with the images that I captured.
